The culvert cleanup has begun. Beavers had dammed the culverts and the water was flowing over the road. A log was run through and screens placed in front of the pipe to keep debris out. The fire dept. has temporally placed a reflective pylon in the deepest of the potholes. The discharge rate (based on a 18" dia pipe, both ends submerged) and allowing for corrugated wall suggests a flow of some 700 gallons/min (old school calculation) or 3178 litres/min (new school) That's 42,000 gal/hour! Even at that rate it will take days to drain the forest.
